Where It All Began

Dr.Rajan Kamat Haldonkar (Obstetrics & Gynecology) & Dr .Alka Kamat Haldonkar ( TB & Chest diseases started their clinical OPD practice in Margao-Goa in the 1979 & 1987 respectively.

To meet the needs of quality healthcare and inpatient facilities at affordable prices they ventured into hospital services.

Smt.Laxmibai Kamat Haldonkar Memorail –MotherCare Hospital commenced its operations in the 1993. A mother’s love, Caring and her sacrifices imbibed the values in the Management of the hospital.

In the year 2010, Chikitsa Medical Services (Since 2001) took over the operations .New Facilities were added, keeping in tune with the changing times MotherCare Hospital was transformed into a Multi-specialty setup.

“An illustrious student throughout his educational journey , he stood second in Goa in the SSC exams held by the Goa board. He chased his dream of becoming a doctor and after having passed out of Goa Medical College, in the year 1995, Dr.Aman B. PrabhuGaonkar started his Clinical practice in the Canacona Taluka of Goa to fulfill his father’s dream. He specialized in the treatment of Diabetes, hypertension and Cardiac care. In the year 2001 he teamed up with Mr.Sagar Utagi and floated a company ie Chikitsa Medical Services to start the first industrial hospital in Goa at Verna Industrial Estate. “

“He completed his graduation from Osmania University in Hyderabad, in BA Economics. He started of his career working as an Executive administration at Nasan Medical Electronics Pvt, a pioneering company manufacturing PC based medical diagnostic instruments in the Mid nineties in India. From and admistrator to the factory manager and moving ahead to the marketing department of the company over the years. . After completing 8 years of service in Nasan, in the year 2001, he teamed up with Dr.Aman B. PrabhuGaonkar to float Chikitsa Medical Services to start the first industrial hospital in Goa at Verna Industrial Estate.”

CHIKITSA MEDICAL SERVICES, started its first venture, CHIKITSA HOSPITAL IN April 2002 at Verna Industrial Estate. Chikitsa Hospital provides 24 hours comprehensive medical facilities with resident doctor available. In due course, taking note of the services rendered and facilities available at Chikitsa, the Government of Goa notified Chikitsa Hospital as an ESI empanelled hospital for Verna Industrial Estate.
