The department deals in treatment of various general surgical problems. Minor, Intermediate, Major, Supra major surgeries, High risk complex surgeries are done. The department has the best infrastructure to deal with high risk and double high risk surgeries with the support of I.C.U, with excellent intensivist, who deliver post operative management with consummate skill and provides effective and judicious care. The department is also very well complimented with Imaging, Invasive radiology and Endoscopy. Department of General Surgery also deals with number of re-operative surgeries, where cases primary or tertiary are referred as a last resort, when the focused, super specialists encounter surgical problems beyond their reach.
